Love Cafe Phoenicia! I got my sisters hooked to this place. My usual is the Fatoush salad with added chicken shawarma . The salad has toasted pita bites with a good house dressing. The lentil soup is delicious. The soup has good flavor. Not salty or bland. I really like that the lentils are purée. Perfect for little ones who are picky eaters or have food textures issues like my little one. Perfect for babies too. The crab cakes are really good but I personally think they are overpriced. I had good crab cakes elsewhere and they were twice as big for almost the same price. My kids love the gyro plates but not the grecian sauce. I have to remind the staff no Grecian sauce. Really emphasize if not you'll get the "white sauce". They have many other great choices. And of course that addicting Lebanese tea. The staff has always be courteous and wonderful. Especially after my little one made a mess with the rice pilaf. Great servers.

I had a decent falafel wrap. Waitress weren't very knowledgeable of the menu and the service was slow. The ambiance was nice and quiet for a few of us to catch up and talk.

Use Yelp on the road. The portions are big. The wait staff is very attentive. Had the sampler appetizer which was way more than one could eat. It is your basic Greek flavor.

I love Cafe Phonecia! My favorite is the shrimp and clam linguine! I am usually not one to try anything out of the norm, but because of this dish, I have broadened my horizons! The people are friendly and helpful and the ambiance is calm and the decor casual but not chintzy. We really like coming here for a quick bite because we are certain to get our food quickly!

Located right by Bass Pro Shops in Denham Springs, Cafe Phoenicia is a nice alternative to Hooters, also located right by Bass Pro Shops in Denham Springs. On that note, fellas, it's probably not the greatest idea to bring a date to Hooters (I witnessed some dude all but dragging his poor girlfriend through the parking lot). Go here, instead, if you're not going to make the 5 mile trek to a nicer place in Baton Rouge, K? You can thank me later. We arrived about 45 minutes before closing (which, thankfully, is 10pm on weekends). It's a casual eatery. Naturally, you probably know that you're not coming to a Greek restaurant in a strip mall for the atmosphere... dim lighting does wonders, I tell ya. I could have done without the flat screen TV mounted on the wall of the main dining room, but otherwise AOK as the stars indicate. Everyone is so darned nice in here. Service is prompt and attentive. The not so good: entire staff starts cleaning before closing and the smell of cleaning products is not very appetizing, nor is the sight of someone walking the garbage out through the dining room. I get it, casual dining, but some things are sacred in the food & bev industry. Back to the good! Drinks are insanely cheap and they even have frozen margs if that's your thing. On that note, a Sauza margarita is only $5. Insane, right? These will set you back twice that in NOLA! I was pretty happy when I spied Cecci Sangiovese by the glass (and it's a very generous pour, I might add). There could be more vegetarian options other than the usual suspects: falafel, hummus, babaganouj and salads, whereas there are meaty options galore (and my boyfriend was amazed at the quality and quantity of his entree). I do realize they are trying to appeal to their market, so I get it. Green salads are crisp and extremely fresh (if you don't eat dairy, make sure to tell them to leave off the feta!) The lentil soup is excellent. The hummus is OK. If you like the kind of extremely creamy Sabra variety, you'll love that of Cafe Phoenicia. Sabra-style hummus is my least favorite, so next time I'll opt to try their babaganouj. Also, I was not terribly thrilled with the plain old boring pita bread that comes with. So many restaurants these days are making their own flat bread, which can take a bland dip and make it into something really great. I didn't try their falafel, but if it's good, that will bump this review up a star, for sure.

First time eating here and the food was great. The staff was very friendly and made sure that we had everything we needed. We had dinner and enough for lunch the next day for two. Will be going back to try other items on the menu.

Cafe Phoenicia is always my go to lunch spot. Their service and food are always spot on. One of my favs here is the hummus. It's one of the best in the area! The lunch specials are proportioned wonderfully and priced great. I never spend over $12. I usually get the combo plate with rice and hummus. It also comes with a small salad. I usually have enough food for the next day as well. The food is flavored well and holds well in the fridge as a left over. If ever in the Denham area, this is a great place to try,

We stopped here looking for vegetarian food. They had a few options. I got the Veggie pita, which came with a salad and hummus. My hubby got the veggie phoenicia, it came with spinach pie, rice and eggplant also salad and hummus. Everything was incredibly delicious and the service was also excellent!

Stopped in here for lunch today with my family and we split a sampler platter. First of all, the sampler platter for four could easily feed six or more, and was very reasonably priced. All of the food was well-seasoned, balanced, and really delicious. I thought the hummus and kabobs (lamb?) were particularly tasty. There was a great diversity of flavors and textures, and the whole experience was a great break from standard Baton Rouge-ish table fare. The service was solid, and what I took to be the manager was busing tables and chatting up the customers. Always nice to see that. This seems like a no-brainer spot to hit for lunch...wish it was closer!

Delicious food! My family makes this an after church regular stop. I love this type of cuisine. I personally love the steak ka-bobs. My husband always get the gyros. Both are yummy. The staff is always friendly and courteous and the service is actually pretty quick. 5 stars from us!

My review is based on their new location in Central but it's not on Yelp yet. The location is awesome. The building is modern/new and refreshing. The waitress was very good and I will be back without a doubt. The food is excellent and yes I'm a fan of the humus sauce. You will get your money's worth with large portion sizes. To me, this is the best Greek eatery in LA that I've come across.

Stopped in here during a quick trip to Baton Rouge and it was beyond any expectations. The chicken shawarma was seasoned to perfection. They hummus was so creamy and delicious it should be renamed Yummus. It took some effort and self-control but I managed to save room for dessert. Because when a restaurant offers baklava made in-house, you can't miss out on that!

Cafe Phoenicia is a family favorite, my daughter loves the fried Halloumi Cheese. One great thing about this restaurant is that the expand the Mediterranean menu to include many Italian style dishes so there is truly something for everyone.

I'm ashamed to say I go here a few times a week either to dine in or get it to go. The food is always amazing and very consistent. I have never had bad service here they are very friendly. Don't forget dessert!

Visited the Central location and the food is excellent. Great portions, and the Phoenicia Sampler is excellent. Wait staff is great and more than happy to supply boxes for take home of the leftovers. Enjoyed the atmosphere, and we will be back.

I have never ordered anything from this place that was just "OK" ..everything is delicious. From the Hummus to the stuffed grape leaves the flavors and textures are perfect, but the one outstanding item that is like no one else's is their fried Kibbi. There is a reason they are $5.00 each - they are worth it. I have used my entire lunch break to drive from Baton Rouge to pick it up and ate it on the way back its that good. Try it you'll be hooked.

We eat at the Phonecia in Zachary every few weeks. The food is consistently good and the service is good. We like the fried eggplant appetizer. Crisp outside, tender inside, and the homemade marinara it comes with is to die for. Best restaurant in Zachary.

Stopped here on a Sunday evening. The food is as good as anything I have had in more well known Middle Eastern restaurants in Baton Rouge and elsewhere. The falafel was perfect: crisp and well seasoned. Salad was fresh. Shrimp scampi and gyro plate were delicious. Baklava was served hot and was delicious. Good tiramisu, too. Very nice staff. Convenient location just off I-12 East in Denham Springs. They appear to be popular for takeout orders as well.

I confess that I've been fixated on hummus the last couple of months, which drew me to Mediterranean cuisine. Years ago I went to the original location in Zachary LA and was very impressed, so was pleased to find this new location off of I-12. Unable to died from the diverse menu, I had the Phoenicia Sampler - a little bit of everything. And it was all really good. Meat tasted fresh in all it's forms (6 on the sampler!). Pita seemed fresh, too, and was warm. All in all a great dining experience!

We went there last weekend. There is a very large and somewhat confusing menu. There are Greek items..(Lamb, gyros, hummus, Mousaka), Lebanese (Chicken Shawarma, Shish Kebab), Italian( Pasta type items), "American"(Steak, Ribs), Fish dishes, and even Vegetarian Items on the menu. So I was very worried that ,with such a large and varied menu , Cafe Phoenicia would be a "Jack of all Trades and Master of None" Restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised. We had the Baba Ghannouj to start. It was very good...not as good as homemade but good. Then for the Entree we had an order of Lamb Shank, and a Pita Wrap. The Lamb was perfectly cooked(medium rare), flavorful, and tender. The Lamb in the wrap tasted like all the other gyro meat offered in the USA. The lettuce was crisp and fresh. Very good. The Tiramisu was good. The wait staff is new...so they're not as knowledgeable about the menu as they could be. A very good chain restaurant.
